The Cosmetology pathway is a 2 year pathway and these courses are hosted at Knox Beauty College in Knox, Indiana. The Cosmetology courses include learning and instruction on hair cutting, coloring, and styling, permanent waving, as well as instruction on scalp treatments, facials, makeup, manicures and pedicures. Related theories that students learn include Anatomy, Basic Chemistry, Indiana law and Salon Management.
This course trains students in the theory and practice of cosmetology. Students will have practical experience with clinic clients, mannequins and fellow students. Students will take state licensing exams and upon successful completion receive a cosmetology license.
North Central CTE Cooperative partners with Knox Beauty College to offer this opportunity for students in the CTE Cooperative.
Cosmetology prepares students for a variety of careers pathways in the human services field. Students will learn terminology, basic practical skills and theories in the area of barbering and cosmetology.
The cosmetology program consists of 1500 hours total, 750 each year, and two years are required to earn the certification.
